We have personnel with more than 25 years of experience in seedings production. However, in 2006, its first tissue culture laboratory was setup to provide high quality, elite, uniform planting materials (i.e. seedlings) to the agricultural, horticultural and forestry plantation sectors. Rimba Tissue Culture Sdn Bhd is envisaged to become the leader in providing elite planting materials through mass propagation via tissue culture techniques. This is made possible via strategic alliance with leading technology providers, such as the premier Forest Research Institute Malaysia (FRIM). With the depletion of forest resources and the acute shortage of food supplies, Rimba Tissue Culture Sdn Bhd envisage there will be a surge in the demand for high quality, elite planting stock to overcome both these shortages. Moreover, the success of any plant based industry is highly depended on the adequate supply of high quality, high-yielding planting materials, at the right time. Hence, Rimba Tissue Culture Sdn Bhd using tissue culture techniques appears to be an attractive solution.
